Medium

New era for the medium map? Is anybody in? i think we should go back to medium games. people have scorned at it long enough. there isnt really any competition there anymore.

the track pad is faster. its so much closer to the keyboard.

I'd be down with medium. I'm pretty bad at it but I like because you average twice as many games per hour since they're really short games.

I was literally about to make this topic when I saw this... all I have to say is THANK GOD I'm not the only one who still likes medium. Everyone nowadays seems to view it as some sort of taboo and people refuse to play on anything but large. I miss the days when there were separate top 10s for medium and large, and a med 1v1 was a pretty standard way to determine TT skill.

Also I'd just like to remind everyone (who remembers) how Hott$auce made medium islands his bitch. It was pretty inspiring for me as a new TT player back then, and I doubt anyone will ever be able to dominate like that again. He'd be turning in his grave* right now if he saw the current state of medium islands on multiplayer...

*disclaimer: he isn't actually dead (I hope)

exactly! i want med to come back! i miss it. i love having less than 5 min games. speed is an asset and i am fast people have written med off. people only play large now simply because they cant play med.

i jjust dont like medium as i like team games better

Medium maps take away the amount of strategy that i like which large maps offer.

edit: Medium maps really only account for speed, rather than strategy.

They don't only account for speed, there's a lot of strategy and tactical play too... but I do admit team games on med do get a bit cramped sometimes (they are hilarious though)

i'd say most of medium is determined with speed and chicken

I think 2v2s are boring now because people have no idea what they're doing.. But with increased average skill it could be fun again

Fucking hottsauce man, that guy on medium was crazy. I think Deathy and glow were the only ones who stood a chance. I never saw him in his prime so I can only imagine what that was like.

I was going through old games and I noticed I played him on vkk 10 games in 2009 (I think his prime was 07/08, but I was in mine). And I won 8-2, but I remember that if I played attacking against him, id die quite quickly. His ability to produce instant constant rallies of waves was outstanding (my speed and ability to pick off gatherers and overwhelm him with chicken was what made me win). Although I still believe leaf in his prime (med and large) would take hott anyday in my opinion based on 2v2s we used to have with leaf, hott and leek in 08

leek i didnt believe was that great. unless someone was impersonating him in the more recent times (10-11)

leek and leaf were the first to do the 'line of death' where you attack from different angles. I joined in and we did 3 way 1v1's (one person watched each game) and that's where I first learned it (I think it was back in late 08, early 09. Leek (shade/it) was as good as hott in his prime, without a doubt
